“There’s nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer” – Jimmy Doolittle The city of Downey knows for sure that quote rings true. FPCU participated in the Downey One Day of Service on April 27th. This event was headed by Mayor Rick Rodriguez, Claudia Frometa, Blanca Pacheco, and Downey’s City Council. During this event, volunteers came together to plant trees all over Downey as a part of a much larger effort to plant 11,000 trees in Downey and surrounding areas like Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs, and La Mirada.

April kicks off the start of Los Angeles’ “City of STEM”, a month long initiative to promote and celebrate the importance of science and technology in our modern lives. The Columbia Memorial Space Center partnered with over 70 different organizations to provide live-music performances, mobile labs, and planetarium shows for people of all ages. FPCU joined in on the fun to support the endeavors of those who advance the STEM fields.

Held in the parking lot of Stonewood Center, this walk is in support of adults and children with intellectual/developmental disabilities. The Arc is committed to changing society’s understanding of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and educating parents regarding their child’s individual potential. FPCU is proud to support the Arc Walk and all they do for our community.

*Refer-a Friend $25 incentive will be deposited into the referrer’s FPCU account, and $25 will be deposited into the new member’s account/referee, once a checking account is opened and a minimum $300 in deposit is met within a 30 day period. Deposit minimum of $300.00 a month must post within 75 days of account opening. Refer-A-Friend incentive cannot be combined with any other offers or incentives. There is no limit to the number of new members an existing member may refer, but will only receive the $25 incentive once each new member meets the refer-a-friend incentive criteria stated above. FPCU employees and volunteers do not qualify for the Refer-A-Friend $25 incentive.
